Razão serves fine-dining cooking in Calheta. .

Chef Octávio Freitas's restaurant at Socalco Nature Hotel in Calheta, known above all for its own gardens: much of what lands on the plate is grown on the property, with the rest from local producers and fish from the Madeira coast. There is no fixed menu. The kitchen works by inspiration around a Season's menu built on whatever the gardens are producing, and it is open to the dining room, so you watch the team cook. The five-course tasting menu was €75 per person on Mike McCabe's October 2026 visit; his table paid €40 for wine and €210 in total, including extra bread and water. Those are prices paid on that visit, not a current menu promise.
