Madeira's nightlife is concentrated in Funchal: small late-licensed clubs, an established LGBTQ+ venue, and a handful of DJ and live-music rooms that open around 23:00 and don't really fill until after midnight. The scene is intimate rather than massive, mixing locals, visitors and seasonal workers in the city centre and around the harbour.

Funchal, Old Town (Zona Velha)
Funchal's main LGBTQ+ club (formerly 23 Vintage), on Rua de Santa Maria in the Old Town. DJ sets, a small dancefloor and late hours, the default gay night out on the island, and cheap by Funchal standards.
Three House

Three House in central Funchal is a hotel, restaurant, bar and late-night club in one building, a ground-floor restaurant, a rooftop pool terrace with cocktails and loungers, and DJ nights that run past midnight at weekends. Non-guests are welcome at the bar and restaurant.
Vespas
Funchal, PortThe biggest room in the Vespas Club complex near Funchal's port, a long-running commercial dance club with pop, house and mainstream DJ sets across a large dancefloor. The best-known late-night venue in the complex and the one most visitors end up at.
Jam
Funchal, PortHip-hop, R&B and urban room inside the Vespas Club complex near Funchal's port. Smaller and more bass-heavy than the main Vespas room, with a younger local crowd.
Marginal
Funchal, PortSmall late-night club near Funchal's port with a house-music focus and resident DJs. Doesn't really get going until around 11 PM and runs through to about 4 AM, an intimate dancefloor rather than a big-room club.
Groovy

Bar and late-night club on Rua do Esmeraldo, just off Funchal's city centre, with retro, disco and pop nights. Unusually for a club here it opens early evening every day except Sunday, so it works as a drinks stop as well as a 3 AM dancefloor at weekends.
Dubai Club

Three-floor club on Rua do Favila, between the Savoy Palace and Pestana Carlton, a dancefloor on the first floor, a lounge above, and a shisha space that was one of the first on the island. One of the livelier late-night addresses in the hotel zone.
Böate Disco Club

Glam retro disco next door to Dubai Club on Rua do Favila with two rooms: 'Vintage & Terrace' for 70s, 80s and 90s hits with a cocktail bar, and 'Disco Club' for world music. The dressier, nostalgia-leaning night out in the hotel zone.
Copacabana
Funchal, São MartinhoLong-standing dance club at the Casino da Madeira complex in São Martinho, drawing a mixed local and visitor crowd with Latin, Afro-house and mainstream DJ nights. Weekend nights only, casual dress and a 4 AM close.
Gpoint
Funchal, São MartinhoFunchal's best-known LGBTQ+ bar and karaoke club, out in São Martinho west of the centre. Karaoke, late-night DJ sets, drag shows and themed parties draw a mixed, welcoming crowd, open from early evening every day except Monday, and running to 4 AM at weekends.
