The service

Madeira Info is an open guide to the island of Madeira. It provides curated information on trails, beaches, towns, viewpoints, events, weather and sea conditions. The site and its associated data APIs are offered free of charge for personal, educational, and commercial use, subject to the licence terms below.

Content and accuracy

We do our best to keep descriptions, coordinates, opening hours and trail conditions accurate, but Madeira is a living landscape. Weather changes, paths shift, and local regulations evolve. Always verify critical details (especially safety-related ones such as trail closures or sea-state warnings) with official local sources before travelling.

Live weather and sea-condition data come from third-party open-data providers. We display these feeds as-is and are not responsible for their accuracy or availability.

Licence

Place facts published on Madeira Info (names, opening hours, locations, coordinates and event dates) and the data returned by our public APIs are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4.0). You may reuse them for any purpose, provided you give appropriate credit and link back to madeirainfo.com.

All other content, including guide text, tips, reviews, photographs and videos, is copyright Madeira Info, all rights reserved. Short quotations with a link to the source page are welcome; anything more needs written permission.

Photographs submitted by members of The Madeira Collective are never covered by the Creative Commons licence. Each contributor keeps their copyright, and those photographs are published only under the separate non-exclusive contributor licence.

External links and embeds

The site contains links to external resources (official tourism boards, weather services, map providers, accommodation platforms). We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their content, privacy practices or terms. Visiting them is at your own discretion.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Madeira Info or its APIs to:

• Harvest data in a way that degrades service for other users
• Spread malware, spam or misleading content
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
• Impersonate the site or its operators
