What we collect

Madeira Info is designed to be as lightweight as possible. We do not run advertising trackers, social-media pixels, or behavioural-profiling scripts.

• Server logs: Our hosting provider records basic request data (IP address, browser type, page visited, timestamp) for operational security and troubleshooting. These logs are rotated automatically and are not used to build personal profiles.
• Error reporting: If a page crashes, an anonymous error report may be sent to help us fix the issue. It contains the page URL and error message, but no personally identifiable information.
• Contact submissions: If you email or message us, we retain only the information you voluntarily provide so we can respond. We do not add these addresses to marketing lists.

Third-party services

Some pages embed external content to show live weather, maps, or sea conditions:

• Meteoblue weather widgets — load forecast maps and charts directly from Meteoblue AG (Switzerland). Their privacy policy applies when you interact with those embeds.
• Open-Meteo — we query this open weather API server-side; no visitor data is passed to them.

Cookies

Madeira Info does not use cookies for tracking, advertising, or profiling. The only cookies that may be set are strictly technical ones required by the hosting platform for security (for example, bot-protection challenges).

Data retention

Server logs are kept for a short operational window (typically 30 days) and then automatically purged. Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal data we hold about you, request corrections, or ask for deletion by contacting us. Because we collect very little, these requests are usually simple to honour.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "last updated" date at the top of the page will always reflect the current version.
