What's inside
The collection covers every stage of his career — Sporting Lisbon youth, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al-Nassr — and includes the full set of Ballon d'Or trophies, European Championship and Champions League winners' medals, match-worn boots and shirts, and a wall of his Portugal caps. There's a short film about his Madeira upbringing and a photo zone with a wax figure.
Getting there
The museum is on the ground floor of the Pestana CR7 Hotel on Funchal's marina. From the cathedral (Sé) walk west along Avenida do Mar for 10 minutes — you'll see the bronze first. From the cable car base station it's a 5-minute walk. There's no dedicated parking; use the marina underground car park or any of the city-centre lots and walk.
Best time to visit
Weekday mornings are quietest. Cruise-ship days (Tuesdays and Wednesdays in season) bring tour groups in the late morning — go before 10:30 or after 15:00. Outside is busiest at sunset when everyone wants the bronze photo with golden light.
Combine it with
You can comfortably walk from the museum to Funchal cathedral, the old town (Zona Velha) for lunch, the cable car to Monte, and the marina restaurants — all within 1 km. See our Funchal city guide for a half-day on-foot loop that includes the museum.
Where to stay nearby
Staying on the marina or in the old town puts the museum on your morning walk. We list Funchal apartments within 10 minutes' walk of the CR7 Museum.
Common questions
How much does the CR7 Museum cost?
Roughly €5 for adults, €3 for children — verify on the official site before you visit, prices have nudged up over time.
How long do you need at the CR7 Museum?
30–45 minutes is enough. It's a single-floor museum focused on trophies, jerseys, and a life-size bronze. Pair it with a walk along the marina and Funchal old town.
Is the CR7 statue outside free to photograph?
Yes. The bronze of Ronaldo on the marina (in front of the hotel) is on the public promenade — free to visit and a popular photo stop.
Is the museum worth visiting if you're not a football fan?
Probably not on its own. As a 30-minute add-on to a Funchal marina walk it's fine; as a destination it's thin unless you specifically want to see the Ballons d'Or up close.
