  1. 1Open madeirainfo.com in Safari (this only works in Safari on iOS).
  2. 2Tap the Share icon — the square with an arrow pointing up, usually at the bottom or top of the screen.

Troubleshooting

  • If the 'Add to Home Screen' option is missing on iOS, make sure you are using Safari, not Chrome or an in-app browser.
  • On Android, if no install banner appears, pull down the Chrome menu — the option is usually there.
  • Some work or hotel Wi-Fi networks block install prompts. Try using mobile data instead.
  • The icon may take a few seconds to appear on slower phones; press and hold the home screen if you want to move it.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a real app from the App Store or Play Store?
No — it is a progressive web app (PWA). It installs directly from your browser, so it never goes through an app store. The icon, launch screen and offline-light behaviour are handled by your phone or computer.
Does Madeira Info work offline once it is installed?
The icon lets you open the site instantly, but you still need an internet connection for live data such as weather, webcams and bus timetables. The install simply makes the site faster to reach and nicer to use.
Can I install it on an iPad?
Yes. The steps are the same as on iPhone: open Safari, tap the Share icon, then 'Add to Home Screen'.
Why don't I see 'Add to Home Screen' on Android?
Make sure you are using Chrome, Samsung Internet or another modern Android browser. Some privacy browsers and older versions block web-app installs. If the menu option is missing, try refreshing the page or restarting Chrome.
How do I remove the icon later?
On iPhone or Android, press and hold the Madeira Info icon, then choose 'Remove app' or 'Uninstall' just like any other app. On desktop, uninstall it from your browser's installed apps list or from your system settings.
